KAWASAKI FS30L C control

Robot details

Kawasaki FS30L is yet another F- series robot equipped with the C controller. The FS30L light weight arm houses heavy duty motor and very efficient reduction gears which ensure that work is done with at desired the speed.

Having a very compact design, the robot's slim body ensures it occupies the smallest footprint while reducing on dead space. This is further enhanced by a small pedestal which houses a single powerful motor and encoder. There is also no need for external harnesses as signal wiring and pneumatic lines are standard in most of these robots.  Engineers can also save space with automated work cells as simple configurations can be achieved with the vertical arms.

FS30L is definitely meant for both medium and heavy jobs; welding, wash down or to clean room applications. Its flexibility enables one to customise by choosing or replacing arms depending on the reach or payload needs. Moreover, there is no limit when it comes to choosing positions to mount your robot. They can work optimally below ceilings or shelves just like they operate on floors.

With its six axes, FS30L has a reach of 2100 mm which provides a large work envelope. The robot has high wrist torque with axes that can achieve rotation of 340 degrees per second while comfortably bearing loads of up to 45 kg with high efficiency. Its rapid acceleration and deceleration and protection rating wrist IP67 ensures that all is in control. The robot has a repeatability of 0.15 mm.

Owners will also appreciate the reduced maintenance costs of this machine. While the recommended maintenance interval is 5000 hours, the facility can last an average of 80000 hours before any failures. Lubrication is also made much simpler and effective through easily accessible gears. Use of standard components also facilitates their acquisition whenever a replacement is necessary.

Programming is also made much easier through an ergonomically designed pendant. Operators can choose between simplified block step teaching and the more versatile AS language both of which are provided in the system.  Kawasaki's AS language enhances flexibility and greatly shortens procedures. Very complex applications can easily be solved through numerous suggestions and provisions for adjustment. Parallel programs can run effectively while a sequencer is not required for simple sequences.

There is availability of three- position teach pendant safety switch, and hard stops and software limits that are UL approved. A large multi functional Liquid crystal display screen on a 7.2 inch touch panel that combines the functions of a conventional teach pendant with several specialised displays ensures maximum ease in interaction.  The Controller is only 21.7" (550 mm) wide, 49.25" (1250 mm) high and 19.7" (500 mm) deep while its performance is huge.

Communication with peripheral devices is also enhanced through easy to use features.  RS-232 port for PC communication enhances remote monitoring hence facilitates error detection. A trigger switch is also available to automatically turn off motor power when the operator's hand are removed from touch panel during teach operations.

Networking is facilitated through protocols such as ControlNet and EtherNet.  Other features include Slogic (mini PLC), external tool centre point, AD/DA, sensing functions, up to 12 axis management and spin control.
