This computer controls and ensures smooth working of the robotic arms \u2013 thus it is known as the controller. It functions as the robot\u2019s <em>\u2018brain\u2019. <\/em>Controllers are also the key element in networking robots with other systems so that they may perform in sync and collaboration with robots, processes, or machines.<\/p>\n<p>Modern day robot controllers are run by programs. This set of pre-determined commands and instructions are the only thing the robot will be able to perform \u2013 all programs are entirely designed by humans.<\/p>\n<h2>The Drive<\/h2>\n<p>You can call it the engine that makes the links (the segment between joints) to move and adjust in the desired position. Drives are often powered by electricity, air, or water pressure. A robot without a drive will only sit in a place, good for nothing.<\/p>\n<h2>The End- Effecter:<\/h2>\n<p>One can conveniently refer the end-effecter as the <em>hand<\/em> of the robot connected to the end of the robot\u2019s arm. It varies from robot to robot depending on the function and task robot is designed to perform. The end-effecter could be anything such as a vacuum pump, a gripper, tweezers, or even a blowtorch. Some modern day robots now have the feature of supporting multiple end-effecters; they however need to be reprogrammed for a different set of functions each time.<\/p>\n<h2>The Sensor<\/h2>\n<p>Since most industrial robots these days are blind and deaf, the sensors are the only thing that allows them to intercept surrounding information. The sensors dispatch information as electronic signals to the controller. This allows the controller to determine the positioning of the robot arm, as well as the things around it.<\/p>\n<h2>The Arm<\/h2>\n<p>The arm is the basic part that is completing the very function a robot is designed for. They vary in shapes and sizes and are configured according to their intended functions.
