\nMicropsi Industries offers artificial intelligence-based software for industrial and collaborative robots (cobots)<\/a>. Its main product, MIRAI, allows immediate, real-time control of these robotic arms via sensors. The company’s goal is to systematically automate work processes while requiring less work.
\nThe MIRAI controller generates the robot’s movements instantly and directly using AI. Without the need for programming or AI knowledge, the robot’s skills can be trained instead of coded in a matter of days through human demonstrations. Robots are trained by frequent human demonstrations of a task while the robot is controlled by the wrist. The captured movements are then converted into a talent.
\nFANUC<\/a> America’s executive director of global accounts, Jerry Perez, called MIRAI a game changer. It’s quite fascinating to see this dynamic route augmentation technology in action because over the last 20 years I’ve heard consistently that companies are looking for it. What’s even more incredible is how inexpensive it is to add this kind of automation technology to any of our cobots or collaborative robots. I have already demonstrated this technology to companies large and small who are asking us to adopt flexible robotic automation more quickly.<\/p>\n

A top industrial discipline is cable plugging.
\nAny robot would struggle to perform the operation of plugging flat cables for the electronics sector or industrial automotive connections, as these applications often require a lot of flexibility to account for shape instability. According to Professor Dominik B\u00f6sl, chief technology officer at Micropsi Industries, MIRAI enables such applications.
\nFor industrial robots<\/a>, it has been a difficult task to pick up a flexible part, guide it and accurately place it into a socket, even though this can be a simple task for humans,” Boels stated. “Due to their limitations in handling complex motorised processes, robots can work relentlessly, accurately and with a high degree of repeatability. In short, a robot lacks the necessary hand-eye coordination. Employees must intervene and occasionally perform awkward jobs if the robot falters as a result of variations or deviations. This reduces the productivity of manufacturing companies, which are already struggling to fill the shortage of skilled labour.
\nOne example of MIRAI’s potential for further automation is cable plugging, which can now be done quickly and intelligently. The range of applications for FANUC industrial robots<\/a> will expand with further automation initiatives planned by Micropsi Industries. The long-term goal is to radically transform industrial work.
