They have also installed mini hills to check driverless buses\u2019 sensors with regard to obstacle detection.<\/p>\n<p>Are we finally getting rid of car accidents and energy wastage with the help of automated vehicles? The answer is still unclear. We don\u2019t expect robots to be that foolish, now do we?<\/p>\n<h2><strong><b>Reclaiming Land <\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In Canada, Edmonton Mall in Alberta is known to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guinnessworldrecords.com\/world-records\/largest-car-park\/\"><u>largest parking space<\/u><\/a> in the world.  Autonomous cars take up much less space than normal cars. To put things in perspective, this parking space could have been used to build 500 homes.<\/p>\n<p>Automated cars require eight times less space!<\/p>\n<h2><strong><b>Energy Consumption <\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In the US alone, transportation is responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nap.edu\/read\/12794\/chapter\/5\"><u>70% of all petroleum consumption<\/u><\/a>.
