It is one of the most powerful class robots with payloads of 270 kg, 240 kg and 210 kg. The KR 270-2, KR 270L240-2 and KR 270L210-2 robots have varying arm reaches of 3100 mm.
These robots are very suitable for various machining, spot welding, handling and palletizing applications. Having high torque axes and repeatability of 0.15 mm, they are accurate enough to do the work in a timely and efficient manner.
Integrated within is the 2005 edition of KR C2 controller with additional security and flexibility features. Software packages are provided to facilitate simple and complex tasks. Through its uniform concepts, the KUKA controllers enhances planning and interchange ability right from low to heavy payload machines.
Expansion is highly enabled both by provision of two extra slots for anchoring of external axes and by allowing addition of a cabinet to accommodate six more axes. Communication is also enhanced within the system for smooth coordination between robots. Also available is plug and play feature for quick start up.
Security features including internet trouble shooting and servicing are provided for. Data can also be backed up in floppy disks and CDs to facilitate detection and correction of errors. While, the system's components are made to last, they are also rendered readily accessible to facilitate repair procedures. Use of standard features across S2000 robots also promotes interchange ability therefore making them readily available whenever replacement is necessary.
