Among the Comp S2000,the KR100 Comp takes credit as the fastest and lightest. It has 2400 mm arm reach with just 100 kg net weight. Other KUKA robots in this range include: KUKA KR100-2 Comp, KR140-2 Comp and KR200-2. They all have 6 high torque axes and have motion profile function for interaction between individual motors and their velocity.
These robots are equipped with KRC2 Ed05 controller which is assembled according to individual needs. A good interface provided by the control panel facilitate programming tasks especially through availability of ready made software packages. This makes them suitable for all handling, machining, loading/unloading and palletizing applications.
Modular hardware and software expansions are easily achieved in two main ways: first is through availability of two extra slots in the basic cabinet for anchoring of external axes and secondly, an additional cabinet can be included to give support to six more axes. It also has plug and play functionality.
The controller parts are not only easily accessible for servicing but are also interchangeable with other robots hence facilitating replacements. In addition, servicing can be done through online trouble shooting while related data is also backed up in CDs and floppy disks.
