YASKAWA INTRODUCES ROBOTS FOR WELDING, MATERIAL HANDLING AND CONTAINER SELECTION

Collaborative and industrial robots for production automation Yaskawa, a leading provider of robotic solutions, recently showcased its range of collaborative and industrial robots at Automate 2024. The exhibition highlighted Yaskawa’s capabilities for automating a wide range of manufacturing tasks, including welding, material handling and container picking.
Collaborative robots for high-speed welding One of the highlights of the exhibition was the demonstration of Yaskawa’s ArcWorld HC system. This system combines the HC-Series six-axis collaborative robot with Bow Specialties’ programming expertise to offer a high-speed, easy-to-use welding solution. The AR1440 robot, which is part of the system, has an expanded range of motion at the wrist and a payload capacity of 12 kg (26.4 lb).

The ArcWorld HC system is ideal for fabricators looking to automate low to medium volume welding tasks. Its compact and portable design makes it easy to integrate into a variety of production environments.
Industrial robots for material handling and container sorting Yaskawa also introduced a series of industrial robots for material handling and container sorting. The GP12 robot, for example, has a vertical reach of 1,440 mm (56.6 in) and a payload capacity of 12 kg (26.4 lb). It is compatible with a wide range of tools and sensors, making it ideal for a variety of applications.

For the selection of containers,
Yaskawa offers the GP8L robot. This robot has a vertical reach of 1,636 mm (64.4 in.) and a payload capacity of 8 kg (17.6 lb). It is equipped with a KEYENCE 3D vision system that allows it to recognise and pick randomly placed parts. Software for easy task setup Yaskawa also introduced its Smart Pendant v3.0 software, designed to speed up the setup of robotic applications. The software enables rapid implementation of automated tasks such as assembly, welding, injection moulding, inspection, machine tending, palletising and pick-and-place.

The Pallet Builder, an extension of Smart Pendant, provides a user interface for code-free programming of workcell configuration and setup. It is designed for high-blendy low to medium volume production in small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), with support for up to eight combined stations.
