Diving Deeper: How Does the New ABB 3D Robotic Inspection Cell Work
3DQI is specially designed for offline test stations, and its modularity allows for customization or growth according to changing business needs. Using a single 3D white light optical sensor, you can scan millions of 3D points at a time. It can create a detailed digital model of the part that requires inspection, and compare it to the original CAD drawing.
The sensor can be carried by any robot with a processing capacity of more than 20 kg and is compatible with a wide range of robots, rails, and rotary tables. There’s no limit to the size of the parts that can be inspected. The new 3DQI inspection unit is the latest unit launched by ABB that joins the company’s growing portfolio of smart and flexible solutions with FlexArc® and FlexLoader.
