THE ROBOT REVOLUTION BENEFITS EVERYONE

We’ve heard people say for a long time that industrial robots will replace humans in different jobs and in different industrial sectors as a result of the introduction of new technologies. According to a report by the International Federation of Robotics, from 2010 to 2015 the automotive industry in the United States required approximately 135,000 robots, and in the same period the number of employees in the country grew by 230,000, indicating positive results.

Another example of this is Amazon, which has installed more than 100,000 robots without putting the jobs of its operators in jeopardy. Amazon has even added 113,500 people to its company worldwide last year.

Technology is currently increasingly easier to understand and use by operators who lack skills in the subject, which turns robots into work tools that facilitate dangerous and repetitive tasks, producing high performance in industrial processes and making the production and acquisition of industrial robots much more profitable.

Not only have industrial robots stimulated the increase in production, but they have also led to an increase in employee salaries. The analysis of the labor market shows that industrial robots increase salary levels for employees by providing new job opportunities to highly qualified people, demonstrating the fact that more possibilities are produced by obtaining skills. Every day we see how the world is progressing by leaps and bounds when it comes to several concepts, even employment where there is a major need to be at the forefront of technology in order to perform multiple tasks. With the advance of robotics, we look to create better equipment and instruments in order to optimize production lines and people’s work life.

A study of the structure of the labor market is evolving towards a balance between the number of highly trained employees. At the same time, the study indicates that the total number of jobs is not being affected by industrial robots.

An example of the increase in productivity is represented in the following graph with the 15 most important markets for the sale of industrial robots in 2017.

Industrial robots increased the annual growth of GNP by 0.37 percentage points in the surveyed countries, and labor productivity increased by 0.36 percentage points.

The possibility for growth in productivity and an improved work life will continue to make progress, where employment will have a significant impact in more developed countries. However, the countries that are just beginning to venture into this market will experience significant changes as well.
