THE EDUCATION INDUSTRY WILL BENEFIT FROM FANUC AUTOMATED CNC MILLING.

Fanuc is launching its latest educational package, which combines a vertical machining center with a CRX-10iA collaborative robot. Developed in conjunction with several leading industry partners, the ROBODRILL educational cell brings automated CNC milling to the training market at a competitive price.
Trainees can receive hands-on experience programming and operating CNC machine tools, as well as state-of-the-art robots, at the ROBODRILL Educational Cell. The
package includes a state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 production cell, including Ethernet ports and Ethernet software support as standard. Previous Fanuc training packages used independent industrial robotics and collaborative robotics technology. In fact, the package includes a state-of-the-art Industry 4.0 production cell with Ethernet connections and Ethernet software support as standard.
The Fanuc ROBODRILL provides five-axis simultaneous milling on three linear axes with travels of 500, 400 and 330 mm (X, Y and Z). The tilt and rotate axes (A and C) are provided by a Lehmann five-axis table, while the 10,000-rpm BBT30 spindle is serviced by a 21-tool automated tool changer. Tilted Work Plane (TWP) for 3+2 machining, High Speed Smooth (TCP) to cut a plane with the side of a tool using center point control, and AICC-2 200 Blocks Look Ahead for better control Contouring are just a few of the advanced machine operations.
The ROBODRILL comes with a Renishaw OMP40-2 optical transmission probe and a Renishaw OTS table-mounted optical tool setter for a comprehensive learning experience. The machine also comes with Renishaw’s AxiSet Check-Up, which is a simple and reliable means of analyzing the performance of rotary axes and addressing problems caused by faulty machine setup, shock or wear.
To facilitate training, the comprehensive kit includes an NC program to identify workpieces, a cover to mount the assembly, five specialized cutting tools and five tool holders, and aluminum materials supplied by Fanuc. The bundle also includes the GoPro Hero 9 Waterproof Action Camera (connected via Wi-Fi) for indoor display, making this plug-and-play solution work out of the box. Others include the Fanuc CNC Guide Academic Pack, intelligent computer simulation software ideal for individual and group training.
The CRX-10iA collaborative robot, with a reach of 1249 mm and a maximum payload of 10 kg, complements the ROBODRILL machining center. A single cable connects the CRX robot to the ROBODRILL vertical machining center for communication. One of the many benefits of using Fanuc technology to create educational solutions is that the company manufactures machine tools, robotics, and CNC units, making system integration easy.
Various industry partners have lent their support to Fanuc‘s new ROBODRILL educational cell. The field of component machining requires a constant supply of new talent, which is why so many industry professionals have pooled their resources to make this revolutionary educational tool affordable.
