YASKAWA ROBOTIC WELDING CELLS IN POLET

This new solution with a Yaskawa robotic welding cell directs the passage of different products. The Belgian company Polet also owns two other Yaskawa robots for welding and spraying certain products. This renovation has brought the necessary improvements in efficiency and productivity.

Polet is a manufacturer of professional tools for DIY, hardware and construction in general. The industrial company has made a visionary investment in the automation and optimization of its products while respecting traditional processes. Incorporating the ArcWorld unit and 2 manipulators for this. Two new robots were incorporated into Polet, one for the spraying process and one for the welding process using the Yaskawa MA1440 robot series.

One of the important features of the standard ArcWorld system is the use to weld small parts with short welding wires. The robot can perform many actions with very little welding.

The unit is compact, with a series of cables running through the robot arm that allows the robot to move very quickly without obstructing the cable, which is another important function of the ArcWorld unit.

Likewise, the welding cell integrates a Yaskawa MA1440 robot, which is in charge of executing the welding task from another point. One of the most important products of Polet is the welding of blades action executed by the robot. The product’s finishing process is carried out with state-of-the-art technology, where a Yaskawa robot proceeds to coat the paint. This gives all items a nice color and has anti-corrosion characteristics.

Stefaan Denolf, technical director of Polet comments.

“The ArcWorld concept appealed to me. The operator no longer has to run around, and loading and looting accessories now requires much less manpower.”

“The price was also very competitive”

A few months ago, the Polet company changed its location there and incorporated four new machines, including the ArcWorld unit. Yaskawa partner RoboFlex added a Fronius CMT power supply and hose kit. They also provided several days of training. The CMT welding process offers an application without spills and stains which avoids having to resort to other processes.

Denolf concluded: The Polet company, claim to have doubled their capacity. The operator can take care of loading and unloading while the robot performs welding and spraying. “So far, everything is fine. Our goal has been achieved. The robot is very reliable.”

With ArcWorld’s solution, up to 50 products can be welded today.
