Yaskawa has added new functions to its MP3300iec RBT solution from the ‘Singular Control’ end-to-end solution, which enables robots, servo drives, inverters and I/O systems to be controlled from a single controller. ‘Circular Conveyor Tracking’ allows automatic tracking of linear conveyor movements. By calculating the corresponding radius, the software can determine the exact position of each product on the belt and position the pickers with millisecond precision.
The compact MP3300iec RBT machine controller, a powerful addition to the MP3000 product line, is at the heart of the solution. A single software tool (MotionWorks IEC) is used to program uniform applications using standard PLCopen and Yaskawa-specific function blocks that are freely available and greatly simplify system development. Visualization tools, camera systems, conveyor tracking, function blocks for picking and palletizing, and much more are among the built-in features, along with enhanced conveyor tracking.
This technology can be used by users and mechanical engineers to incorporate robots into current architectures without the use of a learning box or proprietary robot programming language. The controller firmware calculates the motion sequence of the individual robot axes or customer-specific delta kinematics. So the programmer can concentrate on the application.
Motoman robots with DX200, YRC1000 and YRC1000 Micro series controllers can be easily incorporated into the same machine architecture, allowing the programmer to control them using conventional PLCopen function blocks.
Robots, servo drives, inverters and I/O devices can be easily synchronized thanks to the new MECHATROLINK III Ethernet bus controller. The entire system can be designed in a single software environment if your machine provides standard axis motion control. This feature allows you to improve the flexibility and performance of your machine without having to change your application program or add more drivers.
The MP3300iec motion controller with Sigma-7 servo system combined with high performance drives enables complex motion control applications. The standard version can simultaneously control up to 32 real axes and up to 8 Robots, while the RBT version has 62 virtual axes and 2 virtual axes. The servo drives also provide the controller with status information, such as vibration analysis, to enable efficient planning of equipment maintenance.
