ROBOTIC AND DIGITAL SOLUTIONS FOR ARC WELDING AND PICK&PLACE APPLICATIONS, METAL INDUSTRY AT THE METALMADRID EXHIBITION

ABB‘s latest collaborative robot, the GoFaTM 15000, will be on live display in a cell with two other cobots, performing both an arc welding application and a collaborative part picking application.
By combining the cobot’s simple programming, welding software and 3D machine vision, we can create a welding island tailored to the demands of those who must produce small batches in restricted locations with minimal expense.
The GoFa cobot includes a variety of capabilities that allow it to share workspace with people, without having to pay the costs associated with physical boundaries and fences, without losing speed or safety, allowing for maximum endurance and capacity.
Precision torque sensors on each of its six joints allow GoFa to stop quickly if contact with a worker is detected, reducing the danger of injury. GoFa is built to withstand loads of up to 5 kg. In addition, the cobot can be operated quickly and easily without any prior knowledge of robot programming thanks to FlexPendant and Wizard Easy Programming software.
The use of collaborative robots in the metal sector enables the automation of routine activities, boosting the quality, efficiency and productivity of manufacturing facilities.
On display at MetalMadrid will be a system for 3D metal printing in a robotic cell that is equipped with a high-precision IRB 4600 industrial robot, a Safemove safety system and advanced printing software. Production in many applications can be significantly increased thanks to these robots that reduce cycle times by up to 25%.
Highly realistic simulations are made possible by RobotStudio’s offline simulation and programming software, which uses real robot programs and configuration files used on the shop floor. Digital AbilityTM Connected Services solutions provide fleet assessment, asset optimisation, backup management, remote access, and condition monitoring and diagnostics.
MetalMadrid will have another large display offering a Fanuc Robodrill machining centre, a new generation vertical machining centre, offering unrivalled quality and precision with extraordinary hourly performance; the Fanuc Robocut wire EDM machine, which guarantees exceptional cutting accuracy; and various robotic applications, such as machine load monitoring, will be on display by Fanuc.
Also on display will be the CRX-5iA, CRX-10iA, CRX-20iA and CRX-25iA models from the CRX family of collaborative robots, some for the first time in Spain. These Fanuc industrial cobots are the best on the market in terms of reliability and safety when working alongside people. They are also easy to program and perfect for a wide range of applications.
