ADVANCED VISION-BASED AUTOMATION FROM KUKA ROBOBUSINES AT VISION SHOW 2022

Two automated cells from KUKA Robotics were brought to The Vision Show, where they showcased automated mobility with one being used for automated mobility and the other for container collection. The public was able to see a transportable robotic solution created in collaboration with the world’s largest semiconductor manufacturers. They will also be able to see a robot cell equipped with a KUKA KR 10 CYBERTECH Nano robot and a Roboception vision system.
KUKA’s mobile wafer-handling robot system, the first of its kind for human-machine collaboration, offers a perfect solution for material transfer from 200 mm or 300 mm wafer boxes and SMIF boxes, as well as for loading and unloading open cassette machines. To create the system, a KUKA LBR iiwa 14 R820 CR robot is mounted on a KMP 200 CR automated dolly. Both the robot and the transportable platform have ISO 3 cleanroom class and state-of-the-art safety and navigation features. With a single controller for the robot, platform and navigation, as well as a single software for all three, the system is fully integrated for simplicity and ease of use.
The picking cell, which uses the six-axis KUKA KR 10 CYBERTECH Nano six-axis robot, increases throughput, reduces cycle times and increases production. It also reduces the error rate and speeds up procedures. The Roboception vision system guides the robot as it selects, picks and places objects. The robot determines which objects to pick up and determines the best motion patterns to avoid collisions.
KUKA KR CYBERTECH Nano robots have maximum flexibility and a repeatability of 0.04 mm. They can be mounted in any installation position. These robots, which have the smallest in-line wrists in their class, allow tasks to be performed in places inaccessible to other robots. They also offer maximum performance in less obtrusive ways, freeing up previously inaccessible workspaces. Thanks to their huge rear working space and long reach downwards, they are able to travel long distances. CYBERTECH Nano series robots can be used in harsh or wet environments and are protected against uncontrolled electrostatic discharge (ESD).

The automation solutions that KUKA will be exhibiting at The Vision Show, like all of the company’s automation solutions, are supported by KUKA’s service and support in terms of training, engineering and simulation of complete systems, readily available spare parts, robot reconditioning.
Machine vision and imaging systems improve productivity in various industries.
The Vision Show is North America’s premier trade show and conference. It will showcase the latest products, offer attendees the opportunity to network with leading companies and offer educational sessions led by leading experts in the field.
